We created a pharmaceutical form: capsaicin ointment, aiming at releasing capsaicin in the microemulsion and ointment bases. Comparative microbiological determinations were performed between microemulsion and ointment. The novelty of the study is formulating microemulsions as a means of solving solubility issues and increasing the bioavailability of medicinal substances.
