Hardening Processes of Binding Systems Free
of Portland Cement


Abstract:

Activated cementitious material - puzzolana binding systems, free of Portland cement, are in present a strong economical, energy-saving and ecological concern. Present paper deals with hardening process and properties of such hydraulic binders based on the information provided by XRD, FTIR and thermal analysis. The studies were carried out on the binding systems containing blast furnace slag and fly ash, activated with lime associated with CaCl2. The essential influence of the pozzolana content on the hardening behaviour of cementitious material - puzzolana binder systems, through the effect upon the evolution of chemical processes and structural development of these systems was determined.
