Studies Concerning the Formation of Cu(II) Coordinative Compounds with Schiff Bases

Abstract:

The Schiff bases are azomethinic compounds formed through the reaction of an aldehyde or ketone with an amine. They may act as bi-, tri-, tetra- or pentadentate ligands, which contain, in principle,donor atoms of nitrogen and oxygen. Their coordination to metallic ions actions leads to cycles chalets formation which grant quite a high stability to the respective compounds. The paper deals with the study of formation equilibria, of the combination ratios and of the stability constants of the copper coordinative compounds with ligands of the Schiff bases category.
