ELECTROCHEMICAL STUDIES ON THE LACTIC ACID AND ITS SALTS IN THE PT-PT ELECTRODES SYSTEM

The paper presents a study on the electrochemical behaviour of the lactic acid and of the sodium and aluminium lactates on the Pt-Pt electrodes system. Considering some concepts such as 'electrodedouble mixed layermodel' and 'mixed chemical bound', a careful analysis has been made on the cyclic marked voltamogramme and on the background noise of the current-time records, obtained by coulometry at controlled potential. It is suggested the confinement that should be made between the charge transfer potential barrier (CT) of the interface ion and the potential barrier corresponding to its sedimentation (release) on the electrode. Under the electrolysis barrier, the continuous (non-zero) compound of current is associated to some CT phenomena, and over the electrolysis barrier, the CT (non-faradayc) phenomena may coexist with the predominant fradayc ones.
