Complex Process Modeling on Non-Deterministic Basis of the Clinkering Process

Abstract:

Complex processes modeling, such is the case of the clinkering process, requires a many-sided approach. Clinkering installations were subject to more or less accurate deterministic mathematical descriptions for decades, while the process itself that takes place at that level did not benefit, yet, of such an approach. However, a series of modern mathematical methods (artificial neural networks, genetic algorithms, and fuzzy methods) that rely on process data recorded on a specific plant, could provide a good approximation of the process to be modeled. Therefore, they were employed here with the aim of covering an as much as possible wider process modeling area. A number of steps were carried out: prediction, optimization and process control. The aim of the paper is the identification and the selection of the process parameters and of the target function. It could be stated that applications given in the paper could be transposed into a more effective clinkering process, while increasing the degree of knowledge related to interferences among involved parameters.
