, Flotation Separation of Ni(II) from Diluted Aqueous Systems
with alfa - Benzoinoxime Collector


Abstract:

The research on flotation separation of Ni(II) from diluted aqueous systems, as insoluble chelate complexes is presented in this paper. The behavior of aryloxime, a-benzoinoxime (a-BO), as chelating reagent (collector) has been studied in Ni(II) ion flotation. In aqueous solution, Ni(II) ion forms with a-benzoinoxime an insoluble complex which can be separated by flotation from aqueous phase. The influence of some factors on the separation efficiency followed: solution pH, colligend concentration, molar ratio Ca-benzoinoxima : CNi(II) and air flow. The results showed the separation yields are high (R ] 97%) at 9,5 pH values, ci Ni(II) = 200 mg/L, t flotation = 5 min. The isolated species from liquid phase at optimum parameters have been investigated with physical - chemical methods: FT-IR spectrometry, thermal analysis, electronic reflexion spectra and elemental chemical analysis, for interaction of collector - colligend.
