Sinthesis, Characterization
and Biological Activity of Au (III) Complex with Ethandithioamide


Abstract:

The Au(III) complex compounds properties are used in the treatment of tumour growth inhibition. Within this framework an Au(III) coordinated complex with ethanedithioamide in 1 : 2 molar ratio has been synthesized. The complex was prepared by treating KAuCl4 with ethanedithioamide solved in DMSO, in alkaline media by refluxing for 4 h. The obtained complex compound intensive colourised, was analysed by conventional methods (melting point, complex solubility in different organic solvents, molar conductivity, electronic microscopy and FTIR, UV- VIS spectral data, thermogravimetric analysis). According to the fundamental frequencies of IR, UV-VIS spectra and to the characteristic data given by Tg and DTG curves, a square planar structure for this complex has been proposed, which confirms the literature regarding the square planar coordinated complexes of Au(III).
