Studies on the Process of Obtaining PK Fertilizers Containing cobalt as Microelement


Abstract:

The paper presents studies on the obtaining process of some PK complex mineral fertilizers which contain cobalt as microelement. The fertilizers were obtained by mixing potassium pyrophosphate and cobalt sulphate solutions. In order to find the optimum conditions of the obtaining process, we studied the dependence of the pH of the reaction mass and the dependence of the cobalt separation degree on the Co2+:P2O74- molar ratio, concentration and temperature. It was also investigated the possibility of obtaining cobalt pyrophosphate by thermal decomposition of cobalt ammonium phosphate. The products were characterized through chemical and physico-chemical analysis. By mixing potassium pyrophosphate and cobalt sulphate solutions was obtained a double cobalt and potassium pyrophosphate that can be used as PK fertilizers. The cobalt pyrophosphate obtained by thermal decomposition can be used as source of microelement cobalt at the obtaining of other PK fertilizers.
