Researches Concerning the Copper Extraction with Liquid Membranes
on Solid Casing Support

Abstract:

A lot of researches made worldwide have the main subject the wastewater treatment. The industrial practice and the recent worldwide researches made in this field consider the selective recovery of metals from industrial wastewaters by liquid-liquid extraction an economical and efficient method for metal ion concentration higher than 7,86 ×10-3 mol/l, and by liquid membranes for concentration smaller than 7,86 ×10-3 mol/L. The present paper investigate the influence of some specific parameters of copper extraction process from wastewater, with 7,86 ×10-3 mol/l initial copper concentration, by using hollow fiber supported liquid membrane, to the copper extraction efficiency and to the supported liquid membrane permeability. By using different flow rate of the feed solution, different pH values of the feed solution and different reagent concentration in the liquid membrane was observed that the copper extraction efficiency and the supported liquid membrane permeability were considerably influenced. The copper extraction efficiency and the supported liquid membrane permeability were rising when the flow rate of the feed solution, the pH of the feed solution and the reagent concentration in the supported liquid membrane were increased.
