The procedure to obtain an Electrode with Chemical Modified Surface using L-Cisteine and Metallic Ion Determination with Consequences in Physiological Processes


Abstract:

An optimised procedure to modify gold surface using L-cysteine (aqueous solution) and some analytical applications of the carried out modified system are presented. Subsequently electrochemical (cyclic voltammetry) and FTIR characterization information on layer capacitance value and surface functional groups orientation were provided. The modifed electrode was applied to study the redox processes involving copper and selenium ions. Electroanalytical methods of metalic ions determination on modified electrode were carried out, proving a higher sensitivity with respect both to bare electrode and other reported data (detection limits for cyclic voltammetric assays were 10-6 molL-1 for copper(in phosphate buffer, pH 4.80) respectively 3 ppm for selenium). Potential use of modifed electrode in selenium specition was underlined. Keywords: Modified gold electrode, cysteine, copper, seleniu
