Endurance Calculation of High and Ultra High Pressure Reactors

Abstract:

In the first part of this paper there are presented: the general problems of the endurance design; an analysis of the thermo-mechanical effects on the high and ultra high pressure reactor body. These will be used to develop a new method to establish the endurance of the high and ultra high pressure reactors. There are analyzed the relationships between the stresses by static loading (elastic, elasto-plastic and plastic analyses) and the construction methods (monobloc, shrink-fit layered and autofrettage reactors). In the case of thermal loading the relationships between the thermal load and the mechanical stresses is analised, taking into account as well the creep conditions; dynamic loadings, such as transitory regime, fatigue loading, rapid and shock loading of pressure reactors.
