The Determination of Thermodynamic Properties of Viscous Flow for Water-Isopropyl Alcohol Solution Marinela Irimia, Daniela Apreutesei, Gheorghe Ionescu, Ana Maria Scutaru, Gabriela Lisa

Abstract:

The intrinsec parameters of viscous flow represent indispensable characteristics for solution, in various physical and chemical processes in which they are involved. In this respect, the paper aims at determining the viscosity of the Water-isopropyl alcohol solutions, for several industrial-type concentrations isopropyl alcohol (Xizo=0; 0,1238; 0,2770; 0,3758; 0,4985; 0,6244; 0,7527; 0,8775, 1 molesiso/(molesiso+moleswater)) and for some temperature values (T = 292,15; 299,15; 305,15; 311,15 and 317,15 K). Starting from such experimental data, the following steps have been performed: checking of the Guzman-Andrade, Walther-Ubbelohde and Eyring equations applicability, which give the dependence between the viscosity solution and temperature, estabilishing the value of the molar energy of viscous flow expressed by Evis, the value of the activation parameters of the viscous flow, expressed by ∆Hm#, ∆Sm# and ∆Gm# as well . It was proposed an empiric type of model for the dependence between the viscosity of the solution and concentration which corresponds very well with experimental data.
