Preparation of New Thiourea Derivatives with Potential
Anti-parasitic and Antimicrobial Activity

Abstract:

In this study new 2-(4-methyl-phenoxymethyl)benzoyl thioureas, N-[(R-amino)thioxomethyl]-2-[(4-methylphenoxy)methyl]benzamides, were synthesized by the reaction of 2-(4-methyl-phenoxy-methyl)benzoyl isothiocyanate with different amines. Structures of the new compounds were identified by spectroscopic technique and also confirmed by elemental analysis. The compounds will be screened for their in vitro anti-parasitic, antibacterial and antifungal activity. Keywords: thioureides, benzamides, 2-(4-methyl-phenoxymethyl)benzoic acid, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR
