Reactions of Benzylhydrazine Derivatives with Carbonyl Compounds

Abstract:

Reactions of 3,5-dialkyl-4-hydroxybenzylhydrazines (where alkyl groups are t-butyl and methyl), with phenyl alpha-chlorovinyl ketones yielded pyrazole derivatives having in the 3-position in the pyrazole group a phenyl substituent; the reactions of 2-hydroxy-3,5-di-tert-butylbenzylhydrazine with acetone and acetylacetone in ethanol yielded the cycloether derivatives. Same reaction in tetrahydrofurane in the presence of BF3.OEt2 as catalyst yielded the corresponding hydrzone compound. The IR and NMR spectroscopy confirmed the structures of the obtained compounds.
