The Analysis of the Homogeneity of Chemical Composition in Castings Made of Bronze with Tin

Abstract:

In the research, there was mainly aimed the analyze of the homogeneity of chemical composition for castings made of bronze with tin, and this thing was aimed at tracking the major segregation formation in castings. In the researches there were casted, in temporary forms, four samples made of bronze with tin CuSn10 with diameter between Ø 30 mm respectively Ø 60 mm. To analyze the chemical homogeneity of the chemical composition was determined for each sample in three distinct points, and the results were statistically analyzed and were determined the following parameters: Avg (Average), SD (standard deviation), RSD (relative standard deviation). The experimental results allowed to draw conclusions about the homogeneity of chemical composition for castings made of bronze with tin, and possibility of the appearance of major segregation phenomenon.
