Ecological Component for Motor Fuels Based on Furfural Derivates

Abstract:

Two catalysts were prepared for the synthesis of furfural derivatives with perspectives to be used to prepare components for liquid fuels. The HPW 20/MCM-41catalyst (tungstophosphoric acid on MCM-41) was was tested in the glycerol condensation reaction with furfural. The synthetized glycerol acetal furfural has a very poor solubility in diesel. The hydrogenation of glycerol acetal furfural was performed on the catalyst Mo-Co-Ni/ g-Al2O3. The conversion of glycerol acetal furfural on Ni-Co-Mo catalyst / g -Al2O3 was total on the ranges of parameters studied. The major compounds identified at glycerol acetal hydrogenation were furfuryl-methyl ether and 2-furfuryl-5-methylfuran.
