Proteolitic Enzymes in Organic Media. II. The Influence of
Environment Factors on the Kinetic Resolution of Metylic Esters of Some Aromatic Aminoacids in Organic Solvents


Abstract:

Due to their high selectivity for L-amino acids, the proteinases have been widely used in enantio- and regioselective transformations of amino acids and structurally related substances. They possess esterase activity and are useful for ester hydrolysis. The crude proteinase Alcalase is inexpensive, stable and has high kinetic discrimination capacity in the enantioselective hydrolysis of amino acid esters. This paper presents the results of enzymatic kinetic resolution of Phe, Tyr and DOPA methyl esters, using Alcalase in monophasic media containing acetone-water or acetonitril-water.
