, Reactive Extraction of Uranium
from Ores Having High Content of Organic Substances


Abstract:

The paper presents a study in which the process parameters influence on the lixiviation of uranium from ores having high content of organic substances, using sulfuric acid solutions is analyzed. The studied variables were: ore granulometry, oxidation potential, reaction time, temperature, and sulfuric acid solution concentration in uranium-bearing solution. The tests results lead to the determination of the acid lixiviation operation parameters, susceptible of providing uranium recovery efficiency of 90% in the industrial practice. The experimental errors were also estimated based on a statistic study for the determination of the range within the obtained results may fit to.
