SYMPOSIUM 2006 Chemistry Magazine and Plastics Magazine. Edition 8 SYSCOM Prize Sustainer Revista de chimie The 8th edition of the International Symposium organised by Revista de Chimie and Materiale Plastice Magazine took place on the 1st of June, in IBIS Hotel, Bucharest. The theme of the symposium was: Trends in development of modern chemical industry. Influence of chemistry over sustainable development of society and it gathered together personalities in the field of chemistry and petrochemistry. Among the guests, we have to mention: Academician Ionel Haiduc, President of the Romanian Academy Academician Alexandru T. Balaban Academician Bogdan Simionescu Professor Ecaterina Andronescu, Director of the Politehnica University Bucharest , heads of departments, directors of companies and students. The Conferences drew the audience attention, as the theme was very actual, bearing in mind the efforts made by Romania to become part of the European Union. As a conclusion of the symposium, Eng. Ion Andronache , the Managing Director of the company SYSCOM 18, the main sustainer of this function, offerred prizes for the best papers published in 2005 in both magazines. The prizes have been won by the collective of authors: (a). Madalina Hrubaru, Bogdan Draghici, Maria Maganu, Marieta Plaveti, Florin Badea for the paper The Synthesis and Spectral Characterization of Some Aromatic Amides Having as Precursor the 2,3-Trimethylenequinolin-4-carboxylic Acid published in Revista de Chimie vol. 56, no. 2, page 169, 2005 (b). Camelia Hulubei, for the paper Functional Bismaleimides Containing Salicylic Acid Derivatives, published in Materiale Plastice Magazine, vol. 42, no. 2, page 160, 2005.
